Dear Everyone:

Last Friday was a full day of program business! Faculty Membership and Executive Committees met, and we hosted Professor Missy Watson for a lecture in the afternoon, and this, in between all the other things I know you were all doing for classes and exams and dissertations and all — it’s the final push!  We are mere weeks — days, really — away from the end of this immensely absurd, difficult in so many ways and yet stubbornly joyful in other ways year. I’m so looking forward to Friday’s forum as a way of marking the absurdity and especially the gloriousness of being able to celebrate the work you’re doing, you’ve done, throughout the year!

As Nancy Silverman’s earlier message outlined, we have a full program planned, starting with the Open Executive Meeting — fyi for those new to the program, where I’ll rehearse things we’ve done and things we’re doing as a program — followed by program awards & fellowship announcements, and at 5:15p, an opportunity to celebrate everyone who defended their dissertation from last summer through this month. There will be music (an unveiling (or whatever the appropriate aural version of that is) of the new playlist, and attestations and hurrahs and just us gathering with and for each other! I hope you’ll grab something bubbly to drink, maybe dress in something spectacular and festive, and join us!  (see below for the registration link!)

AND, following all of that, as ESA announced previously, REVELS part II!

Here, to get you in the celebratory mood…

Enjoy, and til soon!
